Daleks in the library

We had year 7 induction day yesterday and I borrowed a full-sized Dalek created in DT as a display for prmoting Science fiction in the library. Their faces were wonderful!

Have googled myself and found loads of other people with my name! How do I make sure that people who want to find me and me alone can do so? Mind you, someof the others have fabulous jobs such as'Professor' and 'Radio presenter'!

Fun with year 9

Having a interesting off-timetable day with yr 9. They are designing children's theatre companies in groups and using most of the Library resources. Frantic, but certainly out of the ordinary. It just goes to show that working in school libraries, every day is different and full of surpises. Let's see what the repeat tomorrow holds!

Joining CPD23

To all who are interested. I've signed up to cpd23, an online professional development course in order to update some ICT skills with new applications. Our new school, Bedford Girls' School will be launching officially in September 2011 and I would like to use my blog and other applications as a way of connecting to the student body in a space that they understand, available 24/7.
